Not All that Glitters

Like every one of you out there, i also have a dream job of my own. And believe it or not, surprisingly it has nothing to do with all the riches in this world (red. that would probably be second in my list)

So, what is this job that i talk about with such high passion? Nothing more than to have the privilege to have my own column. Doesn't have to make the front page; columns rarely do anyway; a small space for 250 words would be more than enough to keep me smiling away.

My dream job may not glitter as a fashion editor, or perhaps a boutique mistress would (which i dream about also, but not with that much determination), but i guess when you love something so much, you don't care hell.

And remember, not all that glitters is gold.

Save the Worst for Last

I loathfully hate the ending to the Harry Potter, the Deathly Hollows part. It's not that i detest happy endings, it's just that a too happy ending can get me roll my eyes a dozen times. So, which ending part did i hate so much? Well, it was the part where Harry got married to Ginny and ridiculously had kids which they named Albus, Snape, etc. Geez, how dorky can you get? Too much information, too cheesy, to NOT creative!Rowling's editor should have forced her to remove that part. Seriously, it ruins the whole book.

Note: I'd have to say that i wanted to post this like months ago but never found the mood to like really click the "Publish Post" button. Don't ask me why. I've had a sudden euphoria over twitter that i managed to desert not only my blog but also facebook and somewhat other similar sites.

Yoghurt Delight

Yes, the latest healthy yet delicious buzz in town.
Weight-conscious people with a basic instinct for dessert be relished.
The perfect combi of ice cream and yoghurt is here!
May it be Sour Sally or Heavenly Blush, i recommend the original classic with strawberry and mochi toppings.

Geez, i guess this is one of the privileges of living in this forever progressing capital.
Along with modernity, comes higher demands for a better and of course healthier life.
And the market works their ass off to meet them!
The result of course is the perfect capital haven for its populi (red. me and you)

Enjoy no guilty pleasure!

The Art of Film

I've always been a fan of films from all genres; from noir to sci-fi.
I love seeing different kinds of film from different parts of the world.
That's why i prefer the Independent Film Channel (IFC) or the Sundance Channel (SUN) more than premium channels, such as HBO and Cinemax.

Now, one thing about these "audiovisual things" is that i prefer to refer to them with the term 'film' term rather than the terms 'movie' or 'cinema'.
You see, the word 'movie' suggests a more popular culture and the french word 'cinema' suggest a more arty culture. While my object of fascination includes both cultures and a lot more! So, i'm sticking with the bigger umbrella: FILM.

And if you ask me what makes a good film i would have to ask you to sit down, get hold of a cushion, and not forgetting some popcorn.

One of the points that i like to highlight about a good film is that it lasts in your memory for quite some time. It's not the kind of film where you find difficulties recalling the characters or worst the storyline.
It sticks in your memory and affects you in one way or another; in real life or dreams.
Here are a list of 5 films that seem to have embedded themselves into my brain cells.

♥ Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
♥ The Beach
♥ Being John Malkovich
♥ The Darjeeling Limited
♥ Fight Club

Feel free to add suggestions!

Breakfast on the Runway

Now, when was the last time we not only had a decent breakfast but ate it with decent style? I can't seem to remember my last stylish breakfast.
As far as i remember, it has always been the messily bundled hair and oversized shirt with stripy shorts for me.
No fancy bagels with cups of the ultimate coffee beans. Simply bowls of kellogs with the rare occassions of chopped strawberries and the usual milk box. Not forgetting the quite often variation of breggfast consisting of scrambled eggs and buttered toast.
Slouch on the dining table and eat your way at it.
So, hats off and a toast for all the Holly Golightly out there who manage to tuck in their breakfast with style!

The Boy with the Green Baskom

It took just one little boy with his little green 'baskom' for me to realize how good life has been to me.
A boy hunched in a corner with what was left of his goods.
Curled up with a worn out notebook.
Studying the night away.
And yet there was no sign of disappointment on his minute face.
Nor even anger cursing the heavens on the misfortune of life.
As if everything was how it was supposed to be.

Oh It's Love

Oh, it is love
From the first time I set my eyes upon yours
Thinking oh, is it love?

Oh dear
It's been hardly a moment
And you are already missed
There is still a bit of your skin
That I've yet to have kissed
Oh say please do not go
But you know, oh, you know that I must
Oh say I love you so
But you know, oh, you know you can trust
We'll be holding hands once again
All our broken plans I will mend
I will hold you tight so you know
It is love from the first
Time I pressed my hand into yours
Thinking oh is it love?

Oh, dear, it's been hardly three days
And I'm longing to feel your embrace.
There are several days
Until I can see your sweet face.
Oh say, wouldn't you like to be older and married with me
Oh say, wouldn't it be nice to know right now that we'll be
Someday holding hands in the end
All our broken plans will have been
I will kiss you soft so you know
It is love from the first
Time I pressed my lips against yours
Thinking oh is it love?

Your heart may long for love that is more near
So when I'm gone these words will be here
To ease every fear
And dry up every tear
And make it very clear
I kiss you and I know
It is love from the first
Time I pressed my lips against yours
Thinking oh is it love?

Oh it is love from the first
Time I pressed my lips against yours
Thinking oh is it love?

I kiss you and I know
It is love from the first
Time I pressed my lips against yours
Thinking oh is it love?
